Dire Strider in Pre - Guild Wars Forums

Im confused, hope someone can help - we dont gain xp by killing something 3 levels lower than us do we, so when dl a pet does it also mean they dont when they kill us?

Im level 5 trying again for LD and thought it would be a good idea to have a Dire Strider.. thought Id read that somewhere, so Im standing here at the shrine now wondering if Im just wasting my time - Strider is currently level 5.. can anyone help clear that up for me so I dont waste more time?

sicne when do you you not get xp for killing something 3 lvls lower than yourself?
you stop getting xp when its 6 lvls lower

So if you're lvl 5, the pet gets xp from killing you till its lvl 11 (often becomes aggressive at lvl 11, sometimes it has to go to 12)
However, Charm animal does not allow you to charm animals more than 4 lvls over you. If you want a guaranteed Dire, you need to wait till lvl 11 and then let the pet kill you till its 15 (which is when it will turn dire)
